Four years ago I rescued a German shepherd who was seriously under-weight to the point of muscle wastage, was infested by fleas, ear mites and mange to extensive baldness and severe skin irritations. He was not “the big man” - I named him Bruno. As he grew stronger I sought help with the fear aggression problems he displayed - there was so much conflicting advice.
I then completed an Intensive Dog Training Course with Lisa Hird, (clinical dog behaviourist), focusing on BAT (Behaviour Adjustment Training, for fear, frustration and aggression in dogs. I also learned dog classroom training techniques, clicker training, recall and other basic dog training such as sit, stay, down and wait. I enjoyed every minute and received a certification of excellence. Lisa said that she would trust me to work with her own dogs, this was a real compliment. Although she has moved to work down south I still have regular contact with Lisa and believe first hand that BAT training works as well as other techniques such as clicker training, recall and other behaviour techniques.
I fully understand how stressful training situations can be for the dog and their owner. I am committed to helping people train their dogs and working with them to solve any problems their dogs may have.
